Listing items for sale on internet auction or internet marketplace sites can be a time consuming and multiple step process, our patent pending system simplifies this. Products need to be photographed, descriptions entered and selling prices set. When products are sold, the seller must communicate with the buyer and monitor payment processing status and then pack and ship the product.
A faster and much less time consuming process for listing and selling products online has been developed. It is the Automated Seller Listing, Order Processing and Fulfilment System.
The Automated Seller Listing, Order Processing and Fulfilment System eliminates many of the seller processing steps required by typical internet auction or internet marketplace sites, and replaces them with three simple actions required to be performed by the seller.
The first seller action is that a seller places items they wish to sell into a container (a shipping carton, box, pouch, bag etc.) which is addressed to the processor.
The second seller action is the seller makes a request to the processor that the container is to be collected.
The processor then gives the seller a unique identification code to put on the container.
The third seller action is that the seller puts the unique identification code on the container.
The processor then collects the container, either directly or via a third party, and receives the container into an unpacking centre.
The container is identified by the unique identification code on the container as belonging to the seller and the items are unpacked and the items unique product codes (UPC) are scanned into a computer system. At the same time the processor may assign and record a condition of the sellers tem.
The processor then uses the scanned item UPC to retrieve that items relevant photos, images and descriptive text from a product database.
The item is then displayed on a processors website with the relevant photos, images and descriptive text and offered for sale.
The items price is automatically set by the processor based on known market prices. This can include externally sourced item sell prices from other websites, sellers or suppliers of the same item. The items sell price is set by the processor taking into account those factors as well as the condition of the item if recorded.
If the item is sold to a buyer, the processor receives the funds and ships the item to the buyer.
The processor notifies the seller of the successful sale and sends the seller the proceeds less any commission, handling and processing fees.
If the item has not sold after a time period determined by the processor, the processor may start a time based selling price reduction formula, so that the items sell price continues to gradually reduce to encourage a buyer to purchase the item.
If the item has still not sold after a time period determined by the processor the processor may return the item to seller, donate the item, recycle the item or destroy the item. If the item is returned the seller it may incur return shipping and handling charges.
